Ambikapuram is a hamlet surrounded by historically famous Agraharams like Kalpathy, Kumarapuram, Chokkanathapuram. While the name of the village is Ambikapuram, the presiding deity in the temple is Sri Navaneetha Gopalakrishna with Sub Deities Lord Ganesh and Lord Subramania. This is a very ancient temple built by the Kerala Kings, and neglected for many years. Due to certain ill effects felt by later kings and their family, this was revived and the idol reinstalled. After the revival, prosperity set in the area and the royal family who had no children as heirs to the dynasty was blessed with children. So goes the story. Recently many devotees have been blessed with children and other prayers fulfilled.
